Budget Period and Fiscal Year Accounting period refers to a particular month within UCF's fiscal year, which is still July 1-June 30. Budget period refers to the period being budgeted for, which is a year.
SpeedTypes, also called Speed Charts, define the correct combinations of department or project, fund code, and program code chartfields. When you enter a SpeedType in a SpeedType or Speed Chart field, the department or project, fund code, and program code will default automatically, saving you the time it would require to memorize the possible combinations. The name of the SpeedType is either the project or the department value. SpeedTypes (or Speed Charts) can be used for requisitions, purchase orders, vouchers, and journal entries.
Attributes provide additional information related to certain chartfields including: account, department, project, and fund code. This information was previously stored in separate files such as the Grants Information and Expansions Option files. Attributes allow additional reporting by groups as needed.
